Clean the Feeders- Please!

When was the last time you cleaned your bird feeders? Me? I'm embarrassed to admit that it has been a few months since I've scrubbed the seed feeders. It is critical to the health of birds to keep feeders clean and I let life and too-long, to-do-lists get in the way. Not anymore! The feeders are clean and the birds are happy!

I started by soaking and scrubbing feeders, containers, funnels and brushes.

Next, came the rinsing, A LOT of rinsing.

Then drying,

filling,

hanging,

and waiting, not very long, for the birds.

Tasty.

Cleaning feeders, accck! A task I take on regularly but not one I enjoy. But, it' a good feeling to actually see the SEEDS through those tubes, isn't it? Your routine looks exactly like mine, drying on the driveway.

I have a new laundry tub in the garage and it's made my feeder cleaning much more bearable :o)

Love that last photo!

Mary,

Driveway drying is the way to go!

How cool are you? A laundry tub in the garage. It doesn't take much to make us happy, does it?

I'm also partial to the last photo.

Annette,
Go girl! It is good to get this job done before the snow flies. :-)

WOW, you have a lot of feeders to clean, you must have a lot of birds. I only have two to clean and one is hard to clean but worth it when you are rewarded with their beautiful songs.

Margaret,
Yes, I am blessed with many birds. I worry about them losing habitat so I want to help them out a bit. There are 18 feeders scattered around. I can look out almost any window and see birds. They are a gift.
