Scenes from the Weekend

The weather this weekend was bizarre. We went from a very odd 53 degrees to 13. The snow melted. The snow returned.

The birds

and the deer

and the red squirrel

were hungry.

The birds were also grateful for a heated birdbath.

Such lovely visitors. We had a very brief respite from extreme cold on Friday where the temperatures hit the freezing mark.

I had to come see who left that great comment on TR's blog. I loved these picture. A nice reprieve from the reality of coyotes. =(

I am very blessed that these birds share their lives with me.

jenx67,
Thank you for your comment and for visiting. TR's "discovery" was horror beyond words. I feel badly for him having stumbled upon cruelty, but I am glad he posted the story.http://adventuresoftimtim.blogspot.com/

Red bird, white snow. There's a poem in there somewhere. What's the circular slinky in the squirrel picture?

The slinky is a very cool peanut feeder. It only takes about 1/2 hour for the bluejays to devour every nut. Take a look at my Thanksgiving Day post. I'd add a link for you, but I've not learned how to do that yet.

Snow really brings the birds home, doesn't it?

Lovely.
